My son’s favorite singer has been Mariah Carey since 2008. Ever since then, his squeaking cover of Mariah’s super high notes echoes from the cubicle during every bath-time. “Oh ohh uhhh ohh ….. Eeeeee……I can’t live….I can’t give….Noo I….No, I can’t live….No, I can’t give….” Honestly, I can’t stand.
Unbelievable – Do you know what the first distinguishable song that Michael sang was? It was not “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” or “Baa, Baa, Black Sheep”, it’s “The Boxer” of Simon and Garfunkel! Michael chorused “lie la lie” whenever we were listening to “The Boxer” in the car, at the age of 2. It’s really unbelievable! Do you know every time I suffer from migraine, Michael played Mario’s “Shining Coral”? It relieves my pain, calms my soul and lullabies my eyelids – it works even better than Advil. It’s really incredible!
Sensations – Whenever he struggles with horrible math or mad science, Justin will stop and relax by playing the guitar or the piano. Whenever he is hurt by emotions, Justin will please himself with pop songs. Whenever he is nervous or stressful, he chooses to air his tension through humming his favorite rhythms.
In 1998, at the age of 3, Justin knew how to sing Bee Gees’ songs. In 1999, at the age of 4, he kept singing the songs of Michael Jackson. In 2000, at the age of 5, Madonna became his favorite singer. In 2004 at the age of 9, he played and listened to the songs of the Bangles. In 2006, at the age of 11, Green Day became his favorite band. In 2007, at the age of 12, he really liked the songs of Avril Lavigne. Since 2008, Mariah Carey has become his pop idol, and up till now, Justin still loves the songs of Mariah.
Childhood – It happened that Mariah has been Justin’s most favorite comforter and her songs; “Emotions” and “We Belong Together” have been his favorite pacifiers, in his childhood. Awesome!
This is about my son's unbelievable sensations in childhood.
